Peter van Roermund

Co-founder, orthopedic surgeon, and inventor of joint distraction, with an extensive clinical network and responsible for the surgical technique.

Dr. Peter van Roermund graduated as a doctor from the University of Amsterdam. He earned his PhD in 1994 at UMC Utrecht on ‘Tibial lengthening by distraction epiphysiolysis’. He has over 30 years of experience as an orthopedic surgeon, has won various (inter)national awards and distinctions, and is the author of many scientific publications. From 2001-2003, Peter was chairman of the Dutch Orthopedic Association. From 2003-2007, he was chairman of the Bone and Joint Decade Netherlands. For patients with severe osteoarthritis, he devised joint distraction. In 2002, he successfully treated the first patient with knee distraction, followed by several clinical studies. In 2016, he co-founded ArthroSave with the other co-founders.
