KneeReviver®
Your Knee. Your Life. Keep Moving.
Joint-preserving treatments aim to preserve the native knee before considering replacement.
Keep your own knee longer.
For selected patients, Knee Joint Distraction offers an opportunity to reduce pain, improve function and delay knee replacement while keeping future treatment options open.
Artificial joints have a limited lifespan, which is why preserving the native knee whenever clinically appropriate has become increasingly important for younger and active patients.
KneeReviver® was designed specifically for Knee Joint Distraction, a clinically proven, joint-preserving treatment designed to reduce pain, improve function and delay knee replacement by enabling patients to keep their own knee for longer.
Creating the right conditions for the knee to recover.
The principle behind Knee Joint Distraction is straightforward.
Create space.
Temporary distraction gently separates the joint surfaces.
Reduce stress.
Lower contact pressure temporarily unloads the joint.
Support natural repair.
By combining temporary unloading with continued weight-bearing, the treatment creates conditions that may support the knee’s natural repair processes, and stimulate the regeneration of cartilage.
For selected patients, this approach has been shown to reduce pain, improve function and delay knee replacement and prevent revision surgery.
Purpose-built for Knee Joint Distraction.
KneeReviver® is the only CE-certified medical device developed specifically for Knee Joint Distraction.
Unlike external fixation systems adapted from trauma surgery, KneeReviver® was engineered around the specific requirements of Knee Joint Distraction therapy.
Every aspect of the system supports predictable treatment, procedural efficiency and patient comfort.
What treatment looks like.
Knee Joint Distraction is a temporary treatment lasting approximately six weeks.
Before surgery
Treatment planning, imaging, physiotherapy
and informed consent.
Surgery
The KneeReviver is placed by the surgical team.
First days after surgery
Distraction is gradually applied from 2 mm to 5 mm.
Living with the KneeReviver®
Patients maintain daily care of the pin sites and distraction distance.
Follow-up
You may have a follow-up appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon.
Removal
The KneeReviver and pins are removed.
Rehabilitation
Physiotherapy gradually restores knee movement, strength and function while recovery continues over the following months.
What to expect during treatment
A temporary commitment. A long-term goal.

Remain mobile
Patients are encouraged to walk and bear weight throughout treatment.

Stay involved.
Daily care of the pin sites and regular follow-up appointments are an important part of treatment.

Adapt temporarily
The KneeReviver keeps the knee straight, so the knee cannot bend while the device is in place.

Recover gradually
After the KneeReviver is removed, physiotherapy helps restore movement and strength.

Backed by clinical evidence
Innovation only matters when it improves patient outcomes.
“For selected patients with knee osteoarthritis, preserving the native joint for as long as possible can be an important treatment goal. ArthroSave provides a dedicated solution for Knee Joint Distraction that allows us to offer these patients a joint-preserving option supported by encouraging long-term clinical evidence.”
